Centra Pulse will provide emergency support and reassurance to 7,500 older and vulnerable Kent residents in their own homes under the new deal to monitor and install in home telecare equipment such as personal alarms and fall detector sensors. As many as 70 new telecare devices will be installed a week in Kent by Centra Pulse by its new install team.
The new contract began on November 30th and builds on an existing partnership between Kent County Council and Centra Pulse, which already provides telecare support to many people in the county.
Anne Tidmarsh, Director Older People and Physical Disability, Kent County said: “We are delighted to continue working with Centra Pulse for the delivery of our Technology Enabled Care Services. Over the last eighteen months Centra Pulse has provided a 24 hour monitoring service and they are now also responsible for installing and maintaining the telecare equipment too. This will support older and vulnerable residents to be safe and supported with their choices to live independently.”
Centra Pulse supports 125,000 older and vulnerable people across the country to stay living independently in their own homes with the aid of technology that instantly connects to Centra Pulse staff who can arrange the right help or reassurance.
Susan Smart, Centra Pulse and Connect Operations Director said: “We are proud to have been chosen to deliver this important service that will support thousands of older and vulnerable people in the county for some years to come.
“As one of the country’s largest providers of telecare services we already support many people in Kent to stay living independently and we are pleased to be building on our relationship with Kent County Council with this new partnership that will allow us to increase our scope of work.”.
